Auditions for the Hilarious Comedy NUNSENSE A-MEN

will be held at Electric City Playhouse on Sunday May 18th at 3:00

Come ready to sing your prepared song, copy some dance steps, and read from the script.

Needed: 5 men who are willing to become clean-shaven, dress up in Nun's habits, and have a GOOD TIME executing June Horton's "hot" nun dance step. Nuns must also be able to relate to the audience.

Sister Mary Regina - Mother Superior - feisty nun who can't resist the spotlight. Baritone range and must be able to MC with flawless comic timing.

Sister Mary Hubert - Mistress of Novices - Bass (Baritone) who is second in command. Must be able to handle the wisecracks with a dry wit and an outgoing personality.

Sister Robert Anne - A streetwise, tough character, who also handles a nun puppet and gives the the Mother Superior a run for her money. Tenor Range

Sister Mary Amnesia - lost her memory after a crucifix fell on her head, is sweet, out to lunch, and sings tenor.

Sister Mary Leo - the novice who sings tenor and wants to become the first nun ballerina. Must be able to wear toe shoes.

ALL PARTS GREAT, ALL PARTS EQUAL IN SIZE, and IMPORTANCE. NUNS SHOULD BE ABLE TO READ SHEET MUSIC.
Ballet dancing and ventriloquist ability would be helpful.

Play opens August the 8th.

Auditions for "Dracula" will be
July 21 & 22, 2008 at 7 PM at Electric City Playhouse. Rehearsals will begin September 1, 2008 at 6:30 PM for "Dracula".

Character Descriptions:
Jonathan Harker (20 to early 30's);
Abraham Van Helsing (40's to 60's) is a professer;
Dr. John Seward (late 30's to 50);
Dracula (late 20's to 40) is handsome, fit and the count from Transylvania;
Butterworth (20's to 50)is the attendant to the sanotorium, and also the comic relief within the show;
Miss Wells (20's to 50's) the maid and also the comic relief within the show;
Lucy Seward (20's to 30's) is Dr. Sewards daughter;
Renfield the maniac in Dr. Sewards sanotorium who enjoys eating flies.
Please note that except for Dracula and Van Helsing, all characters speak with British dialacts-the principals-standard british. Butterworth and Miss Wells are Cockney. Dracula need not to adapt to the now legendary and unfortunately comic Lugosi "Transylvania" he can sound vaguely Eastern-European or Mid-Atlantic. For auditions please be familiar with the script an be ready to try out your British accents. If you have a short 1 minute monologue with British dialect that would be very helpful. Everyone will end up reading scenes from the script.
