MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW
by Douglas Pote
Director Jimmy O.
Burdette
This funny and touching story delves into the backstage and personal
life of two brothers, Ralph and Carter Stanley. It contains some of the
great songs made famous by The Stanley Brothers - songs that will have
you singin’ along and flat-footin’ in the aisles. It reveals their
struggle to find an audience for their music. Folk, traditional gospel,
and bluegrass were the music of their home in the hills of Virginia and
they remained loyal to their roots. It includes their 2002 Grammy
Award-winning songs from the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou”? Starring
Upstate Bluegrass Musicians: Mitch and Perry Keown. Also, be sure to
catch the pre-show featuring the Jimmy O Trio!

SO LONG ON LONELY STREET
By Sandra Deer
Director Joe Merck
A zesty poignant and fiercely funny
comedy. In addition to this family’s turf battle, the plot also deals
with the unexamined assumptions that most families live by. Family
members have been suppressing some secret; and each member eventually
realizes that some seeming impossibility has come to pass. While all the
clever plotting is going on, the characters interact with rowdy humor,
so integral to their personalities. Lonely Street seems more a slice of
life than just a great play.

SOUTHERN COMFORTS
By Kathleen Clark
Director Richard Cowan
A sweet comedy about two seventy-ish singles who meet purely by chance,
their common interest is baseball. Amanda, a petite, perky, grey-blonde
church volunteer is charming, self-possessed, and shrewd. Her Southern
accent and ways soon wear down the tough, Northern hide of Gus, who had
suffered through a long, lonely marriage. The thought of sex, let alone
a discussion of such, gives him hyperventilation. Yet, he eventually
develops dependence and desire. The characters achieve a sense of
intimacy and chemistry, both mutually and with their audience.

THE TAFFETAS
by Rick Lewis
Director Pat Shull
Journey back into a time when hula hoops were hot, angora sweaters were
fashionable, and poodle skirts were the talk of the town. A quartet of
sisters from Muncie, Indiana, are determined to sing their way onto
national television to appear on The Ed Sullivan Show. Enjoy being a
part of their debut studio audience as they knock your Bobbysocks off
with a swell music revue of the 1950’s, including the hits “Johnny
Angel”, “Mr. Sandman”, “You Belong to Me”, and many more. Be there for
this Off-Broadway hit or be square!

THE UNINVITED
by Dorothy Macardles
Director Jimmy O. Burdette
To keep the Halloween tradition alive at EC P, we bring another classic
ghost story to our stage with this spine-chilling play. Roddy Fitzgerald
and his sister purchase (for a suspiciously LOW price) a charming house
overlooking the Irish Sea. It has been empty for 15 years, since the
murder of Mary Meridith, who once lived there. The Fitzgerald's begin to
sense the evil spirit that now inhabits the house. This spirit announces
its presence with the sound of a woman crying, a sudden bone-chilling
cold, and the scent of an exotic perfume. This play will keep you on the
edge of your seat during the entire performance.

PROFESSIONAL SKEPTICISM
by Jim Rasheed

A comedy by local playwright, Jim Rasheed. centers on four auditors at a

headline-makers. This tale of office intrigue is funny, intense, and
timely. It includes a variety of office personalities, including a
sultry party girl. The dialogue is sharp and funny. It won the 2000-2001
Harold and Mimi Steinberg Prize for Best Original Play. It was published
in “New Playwrights: The Best Plays Of 2002” and won critical acclaim
for its run at Center Stage in Greenville. Rasheed is President of the
